In-Home Care Benefits for Veterans

Serving Those Who Served Us All
Thrivera atHome is dedicated to helping veterans understand and access home care benefits available through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The VA offers a wide range of health care services and home care funding programs, including standard medical benefits, service-connected disability home care, and long-term care options. These long-term care services may involve respite care, home health aide care, home-based primary care, adult day health care, hospice, skilled home health services, and both nursing home and residential care settings.
Individuals who served in the active military, Reserve, or National Guard may qualify for VA health care benefits through approved providers such as Thrivera atHome. These services help veterans remain where they most want to be—at home.
A health care provider at the local VA medical center determines the number of home care visits a veteran is eligible to receive. Veterans can request additional care and may choose Thrivera atHome as their provider. Initiation of this service must come from the veteran or their VA medical professional.
As a VA Community Care Network provider, we are ready to support veterans and their families through this process.
Counties we serve include Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Grundy.

This benefit provides payment for Thrivera atHome to visit the veteran’s residence and assist with tasks such as dressing, bathing, personal care, meal preparation, laundry, and feeding, whether or not a family caregiver is present. Note that the VA does not permit Thrivera atHome to transport the veteran in any vehicle.
VA Aid and Attendance or Housebound Benefits
These benefits provide monthly payments in addition to a veteran’s regular VA pension for those who qualify, including veterans and their survivors. They are designed for veterans and surviving spouses who need the ongoing assistance of another person or caregiver with at least two activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, or transferring. If you require help with daily tasks or are housebound, use the link below to learn how to check your eligibility for these benefits.
Survivors Pension
