Meet our lifestyle coach: Melanie

Melanie Hansen has worked in many different care taking roles and with a wide variety of people over the years. She was a stay-at-home mom to 3 sons until they went off to school. She then worked with children preschool age-1st grade for several years in the schools. She has run her own in home childcare a few different times as well as managing employees and caregivers. She has also worked in the mental health department of a local hospital, being the eyes and ears for the nursing team while providing safety, conversation and care for patients.

Several years ago, she worked in the leisure activities department of Western Home in assisted living at the Standard building and was happy to return to this community in 2024. Leading, teaching and caring for children has been one of her greatest passions; she has also found that she enjoys fostering and advocating for aging adults so that they may thrive in this season of life. Building relationships with others, speaking life and encouragement so others feel seen and valued is her top priority. Providing guidance, pointing them in the best direction, while walking alongside them is what she strives to provide.

"People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care" - Theodore Roosevelt

In Melanie's opinion, that is when true change happens and thriving is possible.

"I desire to help clients thrive where they are. I want them to be able to stay as independent as possible for as long as they'd like. With the right tools and process in place, I can help make that happen."
